Wardah Eyeconic Soiree: EyeXpert by Wardah

A few days ago I was fortunate enough to be invited along with other fellow Indonesian bloggers to Wardah's Eyeconic Soiree, a follow-up dinner to the launch they had earlier in the day for their newest product, The EyeXpert series: Staylast liquid and gel eyeliner.

Now I'm no beauty blogger, but I know what I like in regards to make up and at the very least I know how to do my own make up as well. So right after we were introduced to all the positive perks of these new liners (Soy wax blend and soybean oil in the gel, aloe vera in the liner to prevent over exposure from the sun and is an anti-inflammatory product), I get to open up my goody bag and start testing out the liners on the spot.

I've never used gel for a lot of reasons, one of them being that most of the gels I've tried are somehow too dry and never the right consistency. But the moment I swabbed Wardah's EyeXpert gel liner with the brush they included in the bottle to the top of my hand, it was creamy and soft and it was so easy to apply! The eyeliner was definitely one of the easiest liners I have ever worked with; the applicator brush is quite sturdy and it was very very easy to apply to the lids of my eyes without all the mess I usually do with other liners. Did I mention that both of these liners are waterproof?

I am super impressed with the quality of these products and honestly I can't wait to try them out again when I go out next: ) Thank you, Wardah! For more information, you could visit their website here, or you can go ahead and click on to their Instagram account at @wardahbeauty.

Sorry and Hello!

It's been quite a while since I last blogged about something and thus, I would like to say the biggest sorry anyone could ever say to all my readers (if I still have any, that is!) for the 2 months quiet gap here on my blog. Really Sorry! As you all probably know already I've been really busy with my brand, Apparel After Dark. I've been on this incredible journey of just taking breathtaking steps towards a goal I've been trying to reach for forever since last year and it really has been amazing: )

When people ask me what I do, it's still hard for me to say: "Oh, I'm a designer. I have my own brand." It has always been this imaginary dream I've always had since high school and now, surprisingly and I am still in shock; I am now living the occupation of my dreams.

It is not a glamorous life though, let me remind you. Oh, the irony! People always assume Fashion is the most glamorous job one could ever have and to be honest, it isn't. Point is, I am content with my job and I cannot thank everyone enough for all the support so far, especially my family. Without them I wouldn't be here today:') So thank you! I love you guys so much!

I just got back from Australia and I've got to say, its extremely hard to come home from every single trip there. But even though Melbourne is my one and only true love, Jakarta will always be a place I call home: ) Can't wait for my next trip back, though!

Apparel After Dark + Giveaway!

I know, I know.

It seems like I've been slacking a lot on the blogging side of things and to my defence, it is all for this one big project that my partner and I have been planning for the past half year, pretty much the biggest and precious thing in my life right now: )

Apparel After Dark is co-created by me and my best friend of nearly 10 years since high school, Agnes Kartikasari. This brand is basically focused on creating simple quality pieces that are long lasting and versatile; meaning that you could literally mix and match anything out of the collection together and it'll still have our brand's character. Our collection will have printed t-shirts, sweaters and matching sport pants that are unisex, but our ladies wear section is filled with structured skirts and pants, casual shirts, a lot of crops and a lot of faux leather!

What is street wear?
The term street wear itself means, just the different eclectic styles that we find on people around the world. All these people (including you) have different upbringings, culture, inspirations and people they look up to thus, creating an endless mix of wardrobe that's special in its own way. We know that street wear could mean anything and it is obviously a huge term to put under a brand but we are a street wear brand according to Apparel After Dark. This is how we see street wear and this is our character.

I'm wearing my Apparel After Dark t-shirt, blue tartan skirt from The Editor's Market, flats from Charles and Keith, and my love: the mini Pashli 3.1 Philip Lim.

Apparel After Dark will be holding a launch party: Fashion Showcase on the 22nd of February 2014 next month and we would love you to come out and join this celebration of apparel beauty! (This event is invitation only)
